As a member of Scottish Hostels your hostel will have its own listing page on our website. This contains lots of information about your hostel and multiple photos to showcase you, your hostel and your area. Your contact details, a location map and links straight through to your own website, booking site, reviews and social media are also included.
You can edit your own listing anytime!
Visitors to our website will find your hostel using our great search and filter functions (geographical, facilities, activities, A-Z listing) and through our blogs and marketing features.
Campaigns
We run regular marketing campaigns and raise the profile of individual members' hostels and Scottish Hostels through blogs, features and special offers on our website, our social media channels and our subscriber mailing list.
You’ll have the chance to take part so look out for our emails asking you to join in or contribute your own item.
Social media
You’ll find Scottish Hostels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Tag us in your own social media and we’ll make sure we share your posts to our wider audience.
Printed material
We produce a printed material for members to use in their hostels. This can include leaflets and large wall maps indicating the location of our hostels and Scottish Hostels window stickers.
Scottish Hostels is more than a marketing organisation.
Because our Directors are all hostel owners or managers we have real-life experience of running a hostel and hostelling in Scotland.
Industry voice
We have demonstrated through the pandemic that we have an active and influential voice for the hostelling sector at a national level.
Our lobbying was instrumental in securing the £2.8million Hostel Fund and we continue to work with the Scottish Government, VisitScotland and UK Hospitality to represent our sector. This includes helping to update operating guidelines and industry guidance.
Latest news and networking
As a member of the Scottish Hostels community you will receive emails from us with the latest news and advice and you can also join our SH Facebook group to ask questions, exchange ideas and hear from other hostels.
Regular get togethers
You will be invited to our regular virtual coffee & chat sessions to catch up with other hostels and you can attend our Annual General Meeting and have your say!
You can play your part and get involved in running Scottish Hostels by becoming a Director.
New faces and perspectives are always welcome and you will have an opportunity to help keep our sector alive and healthy.
